The story of Niki Stik® begins eighteen years ago when the artist, Niki Pinko, married Tommie Mann, a woodworker. Tommie’s workshop was a treasure trove of beautiful exotic wood and Niki’s love of working with her hands, led her to create wooden jewelry. Which she sold at craft fairs, the Key West Mallory Square Sunset celebrations and shops throughout the country.
Her need for a way to hold her long hair securely in place, even in the strong winds (an everyday part of life on a sailboat in beautiful Key West) resulted in the development of Niki Stik®.
Niki Stik® have been tested, refined and perfected, and now we are sharing the secret that Key West women have known for 15 years, the original Niki Stik®.
The two pronged hair stick has been around for centuries. So, what makes the Niki Stik® truly unique and wonderful? Is it the beautiful reclaimed hardwoods from around the world? Is it the personalized care in hand sanding and varnishing? Find out for yourself and be a part of rescuing discarded exotic wood.
